The great Arboretum, a place for people to relax and take in the wildlife.
The “Arboretum” Is a place in Guelph that is still currently able to view and see, but has a lot of history and meaning behind it. The development of the arboretum began in the year of 1970 when the board of governors had approved them. This plan dedicated about 330 acres of the Guelph campus to provide these space for students and residents to visit. The arboretum has over 40 different plant collections consisting of different types of rare plants and species, along with native trees. This place is the most visited place throughout the Guelph campus, as it can be used in several different ways. Many people use this place for fitness and nature walks because it has paths and trails. They also implemented a program that provides special events for students, families, and people with disabilities that want to learn more about the wildlife and natural resources. The people of Guelph and volunteers are the ones who are able to keep this place maintained and ready for each and everyday. There is so much history and meaning behind the arboretum because it has been here for decades and expanded so much over the years. They had just celebrated the 50 year mark back in 2020-2021.
